KinoOikos (Formaçao do Olhar)
Developing New Vision now is called KinoOikos: kino (cinema) and oikos (house) are Greek words which reflect the section’s intention: an open window for audio-visual production and independent workshop centers.
In this 6th edition, we present 54 productions from 37 projects from the whole country. KinoOikos composes a panorama which reflects the cultural repertory, themes and worries by people from peripheries at great cities. There’s also a video selection of “Revealing Brazils”, a project that contributes for the memory and cultural diversity’s register in towns with up to 20,000 inhabitants. The independent production nuclei also reveal maturation, and some created their own workshops.
Another great new this year is the launching of www.kinooikos.com website. During the Festival, the KinoOikos videos, whose filmmakers opted to participate of the online presentation, will be showed on the website. The online presentation and voting on the theatres will be an indication for special awarding by the Festival’s partners. Besides the following exhibitions, there will be a seminar (without simultaneuos translation).
