Brazilian Programs

Imagine eight children opening a box with more than 600 objects that they’ve never seen before. Entertained and concentrated, each of them explores some of these unknown objects, trying to understand what they are seeing. That's when their sensitivity, strange feeling and reasoning are tested.

This adventure is similar to the immersion experienced by the selection committee of the Brazilian Programs of the Festival reviewing the submitted short films. It is precisely the understanding of each work that we debate almost to exhaustion at the selection meetings and that results in the Brazilian short film production panorama presented to you.
If worldwide, unfortunately, there are still walls, visible and invisible, none were enough to prevent the Brazilian short film from exploring all borders, including geographical and those of the audiovisual language. We suggest you avoid searching for an answer to the question “What is the face of the Brazilian short film?” if this is ever a question to be made. It is best to brave the 20 programs, like children facing the open box, no strings attached, getting involved and chatting with the filmmakers from all over the country who will be presenting their films.

It is when we dare to face the unknown that we can mature and leave certain walls to the history books only.
Welcome to Brazilian Programs.
