We invite you all once again to watch the world through the international short film's window. This year, our show brings about 60 films from 33 countries, blending the filmmaker's looks with the freshness of those who are starting in the adventurous path of cinematic narrative, and bringing award-winning films from major festivals around the world, alongside discoveries selected by our committee, which evaluated nearly 2,500 short entries this year.
Displacement is one of the big issues that comes to surface in the present scenario. Refugees, immigrants, travelers – willingly or forced by circumstances – leave their places of origin in search of a better life or simple survival. These themes motivated special programs gathering visions on recent migrations issue and foreign visions about our neighbors, but also are present at the International Showcase.
The great surprise of the year is that the difficulties of life – which are not few and, as always, are currently on the agenda of short-film makers – have been treated with a good deal of good humor. Another special program came out from there, Smiling like the French, and integrates our focus, with French short films that see life with lightness.
The window opens in 10 programs – just peek!
